The Cheshire Inn was born from a simple belief: cats deserve more than a cage and a food bowl when their families are away.
The Cheshire Inn opened in 2020 after founder Anna spent years searching for a boarding option she could trust with her own cats. Every facility she visited felt clinical, loud, and designed for dogs. She wanted something different — a place that understood cats on their own terms.
We built The Cheshire Inn from the ground up with feline behavior in mind. No barking. No shared spaces. No rushed check-ins. Every suite is private, every caretaker is trained in cat behavior, and every stay is tailored to the individual cat.
Today we care for hundreds of cats each year — from kittens on their first stay to senior cats with complex needs. We're proud to be the boarding option that Sammamish cat parents trust most.

How we work
Our care philosophy
Cat-only, always
We don't board dogs, rabbits, or any other animals. Cats are our specialty and our sole focus. That means no barking, no unfamiliar smells, and no stress from other species.
Small by choice
We deliberately limit the number of guests we accept at any one time. Smaller numbers mean more individual attention, quieter spaces, and caretakers who actually know your cat by name.
Enrichment, not just care
Feeding and cleaning are the baseline. We go further — daily play sessions, puzzle feeders, window perches, and one-on-one time designed to keep your cat mentally and physically engaged.
Transparent communication
You'll hear from us. Photo updates, honest notes about how your cat is settling in, and a direct line to reach us if you have questions. We believe peace of mind is part of the service.
